Non-Disney Comparison - Anastasia vs Ariel

Description

Sooo, I was trying to find an old English essay and instead I randomly came across this... comparison I'd made years ago. It came with a whole list of similarities between Anastasia and Ariel as well, like their hair (red, long, wavy/curly, thick, fringe, blue hair bow, hair styles), their dresses (simple blue dancing dress; ball gown with a bias-bound neckline, unusual sleeves and layers; that full length sparkling gown that's debatably blue/purple; the torn beige/brown rags; even their night gowns), their child design (bigger ocean blue eyes, thinner lips, chubbier cheeks)... and more! Honestly, all this really says is that I was waaay too analytical of childhood movies. And although I know The Little Mermaid is a Disney favourite of many, I always loved Anastasia; the quality of the production and plot line (character design, attention to detail, setting, characters, character development, predictability, romance), I mean just look at her gold necklace! I also loved the soundtrack and "Once Upon a December" will always be one of my all time favourites.
I don't know, what do you think? Are there any similarities I've missed? Or are you just sitting there like, "What is wrong with this child?" ;P

Disclaimer: I do not own these films, characters or animation. Screen caps are merely for comparison purposes. This is not my art.

I'm not the biggest Little Mermaid fan, though I admit it's a pretty good movie nonetheless. And Ariel, as generic a character I find her to be, is still very likeable nonetheless). But I've always loved Anastasia (everything from the story to both Anastasia and her cute little dog Pooka) ever since I first saw it on TV, just a decade ago! So, I'm pretty much on your side here! ^^
